Horton Hits a Who?

Over the weekend, Lindsay, my dad, and I saw a white car that had crashed on the left side of a country road. The driver was trapped in the car because her door was against the dirt and the passenger airbag had deployed. I called 911 while my dad checked on her. We didn't know why the right side of the car was damaged initially.

Salem Police say a 47-year-old Salem woman involved in three accidents within a few minutes early Saturday afternoon has been arrested for driving under the influence. Police report Lydia Horton of Mills Cart Road and the drivers of two vehicles she allegedly struck all escaped injury. Initial information indicates Horton was eastbound on West Main at Hotze Road when she ran into the rear of a car driven by 46-year-old Debra Hancock of Iuka Road in Iuka. While reportedly leaving the scene of that wreck, Horton pulled into the path and collided with a westbound car driven by 52-year-old Doris Lance of Sanger Street in Salem. Police say Horton continued up North Hotze Road about a half mile before she ran into the roadside ditch and became stuck. Horton posted bond after being taken to the Marion County Jail on the DUI charge.
